The Man Responsible For Indias Humiliation at The World Cup

If we had to find one person who has to shoulder most of the responsibility for india's poor showing at the world cup , then according to me it has to be greg chapell.Agreed that Dravid was the captain and made the decisions on he field but we have seen time and again during the past 2 years that it was chapell who had been calling most of the shots.His spat with ganguly which led to ganguly being dropped from th team for a year had a bad effect on the team.When a coach targets specific individuals and tries to humiliate them at every given opportunity it dosent reflect well on the rest of th team.With ganguly chapell went too far , but it is to gangulys credit that he fought back so superbly and made chapell eat his words.But this whole affair had a poor effect on the team.Most of the players chapell supported never delivered , people like raina , gambhir , uthappa for example.Many players who had done well under ganguly and wright saw their carriers take a nose dive under chapell.People like harbhajan , sehwag and pathan have seen their carrier graphs dip under chapell.A coach along with the coaching inputs and all is expected to bring in harmony in the team.But the controversial man that he is chaepll never succeded in bringing in harmony always playing the divide and rule policy to suit his own intrests.Instead of being a support to the captain here we had chapell hogging all the limelight and trying to run the team on his own sidelining the captain.Even after indias dismal performance chapell still not ready to accept that his coaching meathods and tactics have failed.If we have to improve our team , the 1st step in that direction is to sack this man , the sooner chappell is sacked the better it is for indian cricket.
